Hospital support – the best of nutrition for hospitalised patients

Our dietitians are a valued part of a multi-disciplinary team at hospitals and community-based healthcare facilities. Consulting Dietitians provides:
  • Expertise on enteral feeding
  • Practical, easy-to-implement advice for patients discharged from surgical and cardiac wards, and their carers, to manage nutritional health care at home. Our recipes and nutritional advice is adapted to suit an individual’s religious, cultural requirements, personal food and food preparation preferences, and budget.
  • Nutrition-related assessment and follow-up of long-stay patients to ensure nutrition is assisting recovery or patient comfort, not hindering it. This assessment can be made in conjunction with medication and treatment reviews.
  • Refugee training.

Consulting Dietitians provides expert and professional nutritional advice founded on the latest evidence-based research.

Focus on groups

We provide advice for members of organisations such as marae, education centres and sports bodies concerned for the health and wellbeing of their members or communities. Together we can plan, implement and evaluate effective nutrition promotion programmes and provide advice on menus and healthy catering choices.

Spreading the healthy eating message

We are experienced at presenting seminars, leading workshops and talking to groups of people in workplaces and the community, and we can adapt our presentations to suit the audience – from new parents to hospice volunteers, fundraisers to sports teams.

We enjoy sharing the professional knowledge and practical steps we’ve gathered over many years as professional dietitians – and we know that people learn in different ways.

Our Consulting Dietitians team doesn’t just talk to people, we get the message out about good nutrition and healthy living in a fun, memorable way. Sarah Ley is a food writer, columnist and former cooking class tutor as well as a respected dietitian, and other members of the team have particular interests ranging from nutrition for older adults to food safety.
