Toasted Muesli
Vary these quantities and ingredients to suit your needs or to what you have available in the pantry. Remember to put any dried fruit in after cooking otherwise the fruit will burn. Make sure you cook it in a heatproof pyrex container not any plastic containers.1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup honey
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups wholegrain oats
1/4 cup sunflower kernels
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup skim milk powder
1/4 cup raisins
Warm together oil and honey in the microwave for about 30 seconds until
just melted. Place remaining ingredients except raisins into a large
pyrex container. Stir in oil and honey and mix well. Microwave on high
for 4 minutes, stir well then cook another 3 minutes. Stir and cook
a little longer until the oats are just brown. Leave to cool and add
raisins.
Serve with yoghurt, fruit and low fat milk.
